A Pioneer of Healthy Beverages

Crystal Geyser® Water Company was founded in 1977 with a mission to provide the best natural sparkling water in the world.  Our founders spent a year and a half painstakingly studying geological survey maps, exploring water sources, and making countless taste tests before finding what they believed to be the perfect water.

They named the company Crystal Geyser to represent the purity and clarity of the water, and determined the company’s highest priority would be to preserve and maintain the water’s refreshing, natural character.

Since then, we’ve grown to offer a variety of healthy alternatives to sodas and artificially-sweetened drinks. Sparkling water has been the core of our business, and our commitment to quality remains our guiding light.

Where Our Water Comes From

True to our mission, we bring our consumers sparkling water that sets the bar for quality, purity, and great taste. Our water is only sourced from private, protected, licensed mineral and spring sources in the state of California.

Definitions

Bottled water is regulated and defined by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and supported by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for water bottlers and sources within the state of California. The primary water definitions include mineral, spring, and purified.

Mineral Water

Mineral water originates from a geologically and physically protected underground water source, flows to the surface unaided or is pumped, and naturally contains at least 250 parts per million (ppm) of total dissolved solids (TDS). No minerals may be added. If a bottled water product has added minerals, it must be labeled “with minerals added.” Bottled waters with minerals added are commonly purified (see definition below). The minerals in Crystal Geyser® Sparkling Mineral Water are naturally occurring. For more details on the mineral content in Crystal Geyser® Sparkling Mineral Water, please see our Bottled Water Report.

Spring Water

Spring water also originates from a protected underground formation, but must flow to the surface of the earth unaided. Spring water may naturally contain minerals, but only meets the definition of mineral water if it contains at least 250 TDS. For more details on the mineral content in Crystal Geyser® Sparkling Spring Water, please see our Bottled Water Report.

Purified Water

Water can meet the definition of “purified water” if produced through distillation, deionization, reverse osmosis, or other suitable processes. Purified water can come from a natural or municipal source. When used in bottled water, it must be labeled with the treatment type.

Sustainability

Crystal Geyser® was founded in 1977 as a California company. All of our operations are located in the state. Our employees live here, the majority of our products are sold and distributed here, and most of our customers live here. We have a vested interest in helping to preserve California’s natural resources, ensuring they are sustainable.

Our PET bottles are BPA-free, phthalate-free, and 100% recyclable. PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is a safe packaging material, and our PET bottles help to reduce our environmental impact. They consume less energy to produce than glass bottles and aluminum cans, and are lightweight, requiring less energy to transport. PET bottles are fully recyclable and accepted at virtually every recycling center.

Everything we do is done with the goal of ensuring that we have the smallest environmental impact on our community and the planet. Crystal Geyser® remains committed to employing sustainable business practices.
